Los Gatos 1967 to 1982
Here you'll find pictures from my childhood and teenage years, in Los Gatos. During the 1970s, it was a fairly decent place to grow up, and it still had a strong small-town feel. It would be a few years before the yuppie-crazed 1980s would turn the place into a traffic-snarled, pompous, exclusive mess. Don't get me wrong, I still love the place, and do visit on occasion...but as the old saying goes, "You can never go back home again". Old Town, which was right next to my house, used to be a fairly interesting anti-mall. But in the late 80s, it was bought out and gutted, turned into a sterile, lifeless eyesore, which is how it is now.
Though much of the town has changed since I tore up the streets in my Keds and banana-seat bike, some of it hasn't.
I am always looking for more pictures of Los Gatos during this time, so if you can help, use the 'Contact' link at the left. Of couse, you are always welcome to drop me a line if you knew me back then.
